Bathampton Angling Association

Bathampton Angling Association was formed in 1936, here is an excerpt from a booklet to celebrate their golden jubilee:
"In the village of Bathampton at “The George Inn” on the date of May 23rd 1936 a Committee with a Mr. Baverstock as Chairman formerly launched the Bathampton Anglers as an Association. Cash in hand at the time totalled £8.14.0d." (for any younger readers thats £8-70)

This association has an impressive list of waters including the Kennet and Avon Canal, River Avon, River Chew, Box Brook, Lydes Farm, Weston Pond, Huntstrete Lakes and Newton Park.
