Pendle View Fisheries report 9th Jan 2005

Hello everyone here is the fishing report for weekend ending 9th January, 2004.

To be honest we have had a very quiet week customer wise. This is mainly due to the terrible high winds and general weather conditions.

Having said all that there have been some very brave souls who have fished our waters.

Main Lake - Carp

Some anglers have reported that they have lost fish which means that the fish are moving about and feeding. On Monday Tony (the angler who represented Pendle View in the British Carp Championships) caught a 15lb 80z comon on a trigger boilie from peg 65/66. He also caught a 12lb 8oz Koi. A 14lb 3oz mirror - this was also caught by Ben Turner. On Sunday a 10lb mirror was caught on peg 89. The very high winds sadly resulted in some carpers packing up and going home (who can blame them).

Main Lake - Pleasure fishing

Again not much to report because of the awful weather conditions. One or two brave souls did fish and although results were not fantastic some small catches of roach and perch have been reported.

Match and Pleasure Lake

This lake has not been fished very much during the week and anglers reports of catching fish are very scanty.

Fly Lake

Again the high winds have put a lot of our fly anglers off (not the best of conditions to fly fish). A 6lb 2oz rainbow was recorded over the weekend and this was caught on a black lure.

Sorry the report is a little miserable this week. I do hope that none of our anglers had problems with the storms. My better half(Philip) son lives in Carlisle in a basement flat. We heard on Saturday that his flat was totally under water and he lost all his belongings. Philip and I had a lot of damage at home with about 5 slates coming off the roof. Lets hope that the winds die down soon.

Best wishes to you all.
