The Obliging Carp - The fishing trip that wasn't quite

I have a pond that I am allowed to fish pretty exclusively, and as such
it rarely gets fished as I only go there a handful of times.
It was one lovely summer evening I decided to do a bit of Crucian fishing
and so tackled up with a small waggler and light tackle.
I fished on bread as hook bait and got a few nice little Crucian to
about a pound maximum.
I happened to glance down towards my boots and there in the water just in front of me was a big mirror carp (well big for there ) of about 12 lbs weight. It really had no fear of me and I kept throwing in chunks of bread and it kept lazily sucking them off the surface - and all this about 2 feet from the end of my boot !
I tore off a piece of bread and put it on the hook and was just about to drop it on to its nose but I stopped. It just didn't seem like sport. It was acting almost like one of those Koi Carp you see in garden ponds. I even tried hand feeding it - it took a look but wasn't quite THAT tame.
You might think I don't sound like much of a fisherman and I should have tackled the big old boy, but the peaceful comradeship and sharing some food together seemed by far a more classy thing to do.
There are one or two decent mirrors in there and I may have even caught him at other times, but that day we were both just chilling together.
